That Kid Who Lied About Getting Sick (Part 6)

Okay, buckle up Pigu fans, because this update is going to be one wild ride. After hours of texting, Coop and I decided it was time for a face-to-face confrontation of sorts with Mikey—well, a *phone-to-phone* confrontation, anyway. This time, we brought in some backup: Neo and Kaito! What was supposed to be a simple call turned into a whole *day-long ordeal*, full of laughs, tension, and—surprise, surprise—no answers!

The Plan

Coop had this bright idea—why not give Mikey a call and grill him directly? I mean, we’d done everything else: puns, texts, and even voicemails, but he still hadn’t cracked. Maybe, just maybe, a good ol' fashioned phone call would do the trick. And with Neo and Kaito helping us out, we figured we'd have the upper hand. Plus, we could get more angles on Mikey's strange behavior. So, we dialed him up, ready to get to the bottom of things.

The Call Begins

When Mikey picked up, he sounded a little nervous—probably because he knew we’d been on his case for a while. But, to my surprise, he was a lot more *relaxed* than I expected. He didn’t hang up, and he didn’t immediately start making excuses like usual. Maybe this was going to be the breakthrough we’d been waiting for!

I kicked things off, trying to keep the mood light, you know? I asked him, "So, Mikey, how’s the sickest kid in school today?" I tossed in a chuckle to show I wasn’t *too* serious, but I could tell Mikey didn’t really find the joke funny. He just gave me this awkward laugh, then said, "I’m... okay."

Coop Takes the Lead

Coop then jumped in, trying to steer the conversation back to the main issue. "Mikey, you never go on any of the excursions. What’s up with that? Why do you always stay behind?" Coop’s voice had that tone—it was calm, but you could hear the edge of concern in it. He wasn’t messing around anymore.

There was a long pause on the other end. Mikey didn’t respond right away. I could hear him fumbling with something. Finally, he said, "I... I just don’t like being away from home. It feels... wrong." And there it was, the same old excuse. But something didn’t sit right with me. *Being away from home? Really?* That didn’t sound like a solid reason for missing every single excursion.

Neo and Kaito Join In

That’s when Neo and Kaito decided to step in. Neo, ever the calm and collected one, said, "Mikey, you can’t keep running away from everything. You can’t keep lying and hiding behind this ‘sickness.’" His voice was firm, but not mean. He was just being honest, trying to get Mikey to open up.

Kaito, on the other hand, wasn’t as gentle. He interrupted, saying, "You’re just a coward, Mikey. You don’t have the guts to face reality, do you?" There was a sharpness in Kaito’s tone that made the entire room go cold. I didn’t think Kaito would be *that* harsh, but I guess he’d had enough of Mikey’s behavior too. The result? Mikey went completely silent. You could hear the shakiness in his breath, and before any of us could say anything else, he hung up the phone.

The Fallout

We were all left staring at our phones in shock. What just happened? It felt like we had just kicked Mikey while he was down. Sure, Kaito had meant to get a rise out of him, but I didn’t expect him to *actually* make Mikey cry. Coop looked genuinely concerned, and even Neo seemed thrown off by Kaito’s outburst.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, Coop finally said, "Maybe that was too much. I just wanted him to tell us the truth." I nodded, agreeing with him. We had pushed Mikey too far, and now, we had no idea where he went. We just needed answers, but it seemed like every time we tried to get closer to the truth, we pushed him further away.

Trying to Regain Control

In the aftermath of that awkward moment, I decided to lighten the mood again. I suggested that we call Mikey back and try to apologize for Kaito’s harsh words. But Coop stopped me. "It’s no use," he said. "Mikey probably needs some space." And honestly, he was right. We had pushed him to the edge, and now it was up to Mikey to decide whether or not he wanted to talk to us again.

After the call, I spent a lot of time thinking about everything Mikey had said. He didn’t want to be away from home, and he didn’t like the idea of excursions. But why? What was really going on behind the scenes? Could there be something deeper that he wasn’t telling us? It was a question that continued to gnaw at me long after the call ended.

Another Round of Theories

As usual, Coop and I started theorizing again. Maybe Mikey was *really* sick, but it wasn’t physical. What if he had some kind of emotional trauma that made him afraid to leave home? Could he be dealing with something that made him feel insecure about being away? I mean, what if his family was in danger or something? There were a million possibilities, but no clear answer.

Neo and Kaito didn’t have much to say after the call either. They were both just as confused as we were. But Neo, ever the thoughtful one, pointed out, "It’s not just about the excursions. It’s the way Mikey keeps avoiding the truth. If he doesn’t start trusting us, we’re never going to get to the bottom of this." And Neo was right. Mikey needed to trust us. But how could we make him do that when we had already pushed him away?

A Day of Questions, No Answers

We spent the entire day calling Mikey, texting him, and even trying to visit his house, but Mikey was nowhere to be found. Every lead we tried led to a dead end. And yet, the question remained: Why was Mikey always lying about being sick? Why didn’t he ever want to go on the excursions with us? The mystery was still unsolved, and our frustration was building.

What’s Next?

So, here we are, folks. We’ve spent a whole day digging for answers, and yet we’re still no closer to understanding what Mikey’s hiding. He’s still a mystery. He still won’t talk to us. And no matter how hard we try, we can’t get to the truth.

But don’t worry, Pigu fans—this story is far from over. We’re not giving up just yet. If Mikey thinks he can outsmart us, he’s got another thing coming. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our quest for the truth!
