That Kid Who Lied About Getting Sick (Part 3)

Hey everyone, it's Pigu again, and I've got the next chapter in the mystery of Mikey—the kid who’s always pretending to be sick. If you’ve been following along, you know this case has gotten pretty wild. Well, things are about to get even crazier as Coop and I team up to get to the bottom of it once and for all!

Time to Investigate!

So after all the emotional breakdowns and the awkward texts with Mikey, Coop invited me over to his house to try and piece together the puzzle. We sat down, staring at the phone and all the texts we had exchanged with Mikey. Coop was clearly as confused as I was, but I could tell he wanted to find out the truth.

“Pigu, we have to get this straight,” Coop said. “Mikey has to be lying about something. Why would he make up so many excuses to not go on the trips?”

We spent hours brainstorming theories, trying to figure out what Mikey’s deal was. Was he secretly trying to skip school forever? Was he afraid of something? Maybe it was a personal issue? We had so many ideas, but nothing seemed to fit right. That’s when Coop remembered something that made him panic.

The Missing Detail

Coop suddenly jumped up, holding his phone. “Wait a minute! I forgot to tell you something important. Mikey left early the other day without telling anyone why, and I never asked him why!”

That was the key! Why did Mikey leave early? He hadn’t mentioned it before, but we both knew it was important. Coop quickly opened up his messages and texted Mikey, “Why did you leave so early last time?”

We waited. And then Mikey replied, “Sorry, I worried you, I was in a rush. I was sick of the heat...”

What kind of answer was that? It didn’t explain anything! Coop and I exchanged a confused look. Mikey wasn’t being very specific. “Wait a minute,” Coop muttered. “He says he was sick because of the heat… but how can that be?”

Neither of us believed Mikey. So Coop decided to push him a little further. He typed, “Just tell me the truth. I won’t tell anyone, I swear.”

But Mikey’s reply was the same: “I was sick.”

Something’s Not Right

We were getting nowhere. Coop typed another message, pressing Mikey: “Please just tell me the truth. You’ve been acting weird.”

Again, Mikey only responded with, “I was sick.”

At this point, it was clear something wasn’t right. We were getting the same lame excuse over and over. I was starting to think Mikey was hiding something huge, and Coop was starting to feel the same way.

Coop Takes It to the Next Level

Coop wasn’t giving up. He had an idea. “Pigu, what if Mikey is just being really evasive because he’s hiding something? Let’s ask him to prove it. Let’s ask him to send us a voicemail, saying, ‘I swear to God, I was sick.’”

I was hesitant at first, but Coop convinced me. It was the only way to get Mikey to admit the truth. So Coop sent the message, asking Mikey to send a voicemail confirming he was actually sick.

After a few minutes, Mikey sent the voicemail. It wasn’t the serious, urgent tone we were expecting—it was just a normal voice, almost as if Mikey was trying to brush it off. “I swear to God, I was sick,” Mikey said in a nonchalant way.

That’s when we knew something was off. Neither Coop nor I were convinced. Coop quickly typed back, “I’ll check again. I was expecting a serious voice.”

To our surprise, Mikey responded with another voicemail, but this time he sounded upset. “I’m upset that you don’t trust me,” he said, his voice a little more serious, but still not the kind of urgency we were looking for.

It’s Getting Suspicious

At this point, both Coop and I were getting seriously suspicious. The whole situation was becoming a game of cat and mouse, and Mikey was doing everything he could to avoid answering our questions. It was like he was hiding something, and we were determined to get to the bottom of it.

But we couldn’t trust him anymore. Coop and I agreed to stop texting Mikey for now, as we needed to rethink our strategy. Something wasn’t adding up, and we weren’t going to let it slide. The mystery was far from over.

So, we put our heads together and tried to think of a new plan. The truth was still out there, and we were determined to crack it. But as of now, Mikey was still a mystery, and his story didn’t make sense.

Stay tuned, folks. I’ve got a feeling this mystery is going to get even more intense. I’ll be back soon to keep you all updated on what happens next!
